To the executives at the Country Music Association,
Keith Urban is one of the most nominated always at all of the award shows that country music has. And yet, he nearly never wins. This blog is about convincing all of the voters of the CMA’s to give Keith Urban what he deserves: Entertainer of the Year!
Keith’s Graffiti U album
In the end of April Keith came out with his 9th studio album. It debuted at #1 in early May. This was his 6th album that had gone #1. For someone who has nine albums, to say that only three of those have NOT reached the top of the charts is really something to be admired. Graffiti U went to the edges of Country Music (if not crossed some). However, his fans went to the edges with him and ended up loving the journey. The thing that Keith’s fans really love about him is that he always comes from an honest place, even if it is not pure “country”.
Keith’s Graffiti U Tour
Keith is just finishing the U.S. leg of his latest tour. As usual, he has put out on the stage everything he had each and every night he does one of the 58-60 shows that were on the U.S. leg. The way that he connects with an entire audience of an amphitheater or arena of 20,000 people so immediately is just one of a kind. Keith does not let anyone in his audience feel as though they had a bad seat. From the beginning of the concert when he invites fans to come on the stage. to the time that he comes to the back of the arena to sing a few songs on a satellite stage so even those in the back can say that they were close to the artist that they paid money to see, Keith always tries to make his fans feel like they are in a large living room. Some adjectives that his fans say about this tour are “foot stomping crazy happy”, “Rockin”, “Extraordinary”, and “Energizing”! These are just a few of the many adjectives that Keith’s fans came up with. You won’t find another tour like Keith’s.
Keith’s wonderful personality/humanity
Keith always has had a great sense of generosity in regards to every single person he encounters. From the radio personalities he does interviews with to his fans (whether in his meet and greets or on a red carpet). He always gives them 100% of his attention, even if it is just for 30 seconds or less outside of an award show. When Keith is talking to you, he is talking to YOU! Nothing has shown this more than when just a few weeks ago the one and only Keith Urban made an unannounced visit to a children’s hospital in Ohio to see a gravely ill 25 year old woman. Not only did he actually act on the campaign on social media by Marissa’s nurses to get Keith to make any kind of connection with the huge fan, he visited her for nearly an hour. Not facetime. In person, holding her hand. All on a day where he had a concert that night. That shows his humanity that he always has had.
In closing, Keith Urban deserves entertainer of the year not only because he is amazingly talneted, but he gives so much back to his fans. There’s just no one like Keith Urban. Please give him what he deserves.
